Professional development should be easier to revisit
A full school calendar can leave little room for another presentation, another binder, or another meeting. Yet teachers still need practical ways to think together about routines, engagement, assessment, student needs, and the next instructional move.
Potty PD™ offers a different format: 120 ready-to-print professional-development newsletters across 12 volumes. Choose one that fits the current need, post it in a shared staff space or bring it to a PLC, and use it to begin a short conversation about an idea teachers can consider in their own classrooms.
What the 12-volume collection covers
- Foundations and routines: classroom starts, transitions, expectations, and productive habits.
- Engagement and classroom success: participation, student ownership, and collaboration.
- Teacher morale and staff culture: encouragement, sustainability, and teamwork.
- PBIS and classroom management: positive reinforcement, behavior prevention, relationships, and systems.
- STEM and project-based learning: inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic tasks.
- Classroom community: belonging, responsibility, and student connection.
- Reading, writing, and critical thinking: literacy, evidence, discussion, and explanation.
- Math routines and productive thinking: reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical discussion.
- Executive function and student ownership: goal setting, self-monitoring, reflection, and independence.
- Formative assessment and feedback: checking understanding and responding while there is time to adjust.
- Differentiation and accessibility: making learning more accessible while preserving meaningful expectations.
- Teacher efficiency: simplifying planning and turning repeated work into reusable systems.
Use the collection in sequence or select a topic when a need becomes visible. The TpT listing has the current contents, preview, file details, and purchase information.
Make the next step small enough to happen
Choose one newsletter. Ask one useful question. Give teachers room to consider how the idea fits their students, schedules, materials, and school expectations. If the strategy seems worth testing, agree on what implementation could look like and what evidence you will notice. Then decide whether to keep, adapt, or stop.
That cycle turns a quick read into a more useful staff conversation. It also leaves room for professional judgment: the collection is a source of ideas, not a replacement for required training, district direction, or specialized support.
Choose a topic that fits the work in front of your staff
By the time the school year is underway, you can usually name a more specific need than “more PD.” Choose from the collection to match that need before deciding where to display a newsletter or how to use it in a conversation.
- Recurring transition or behavior problems: compare Volume 4, PBIS, Behavior & Classroom Management, with the routines in Volume 1.
- Reviewing student work: consider Volume 10, Formative Assessment, Feedback & Evidence of Learning, as a starting point for discussing what teachers notice and how they might respond.
- Students needing more independence: explore Volume 9, Executive Function, Independence & Student Ownership.
- Planning workload increasing: compare Volume 12, Teacher Efficiency, Planning & Time-Saving Systems, with the staff-culture topics in Volume 3.
You do not have to work through all 120 newsletters in order. For example, choose one topic, ask staff which part fits their current teaching, and return to the conversation after they have had time to consider it. This is a suggested use of the collection, not a required implementation program.
The cost of making every staff-learning prompt from scratch
Even a short handout can require choosing a topic, finding language that fits your school, formatting the page, and preparing a discussion question. Repeating that preparation each time a need arises uses time you could spend listening to teachers or following up on an earlier conversation.
Compare the current purchase price with the preparation your existing materials still require. A ready-to-print collection may be useful when starting the next conversation is repeatedly postponed because nobody has time to prepare it. You will still need to review the ideas, choose an appropriate context, and respect your school’s expectations. A newsletter cannot guarantee implementation or a school-wide result.
Questions before buying the complete collection
What is the format? TPT identifies the product as a PDF digital download with 120 ready-to-print newsletters across 12 volumes. Check the preview and delivery information for the current files.
Who is it designed for? The listing names administrators, instructional coaches, teacher leaders, PLCs, grade-level teams, and classroom teachers. The topics cover adult professional learning rather than student activity packets.
Do I need all 12 volumes? Choose the complete collection when its broader topic coverage fits your plans. If a smaller starting collection is enough, compare Volumes 1–5. Check your previous purchases and the included contents before buying overlapping materials.
Can I distribute it across a school? Review the current license and purchase options on TPT for your intended audience. A school-focused product description is not a substitute for checking distribution permissions.
Where should I use it? The listing suggests staff spaces, PLCs, coaching conversations, meeting tables, and staff communication. Choose a place or setting that fits your team and the applicable license.
